This is one of the three Helpdesk positions here at LSS and you would be working directly alongside me.
I'm not going to lie, this is an incredibly demanding job, I work a lot of over time (position is hourly so you get paid for it)
There's never a slow day and we are required to learn a great deal about application support and asset management that would usually be handled by different positions or staff such as an Business Analyst.
Now the better stuff:
My boss is awesome
I have a flexible schedule and the ability to work from home
17 days of Time off each year
I'm hourly so the over time means extra $$$
Co-workers are really cool and the work environment is NOT corporate.
Position Title Desktop Support Specialist
Unit Name: IN02
Unit Location:State Center, 2485 Como Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55108
Description:Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota has an immediate opening for a Desktop Support Specialist. The qualified candidate will provide desktop support services for all LSS computers and related hardware and software. Working in a team environment, this position is responsible for supporting approximately 700 computers located throughout the state of Minnesota. Our network consists of 13 wide-area-network sites as well as approximately 180 offices and group homes that are connected to the network via High Speed Internet.
Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 1-2 years of related technical support experience. Requires advanced knowledge and experience in a wide range of technology platforms and systems. Extensive knowledge of Windows XP/Vista/7, Office 2003/2007, High Speed Internet connectivity, and PC hardware in a networked environment is preferred. Related technical certifications encouraged but not required. Valid driver’s license required.
