The only ticket I have on my record so far is a street racing ticket i got thrown out because he didnt write a speed and the judge thought it was profiling, thank god

It took me a long ass time to get mine clear and I wasnt even in my own car 905% of the time it was the bright red company car. Im currently on probation cuz I got pulled over 4 days before I went to germany cuz the cop said I was "flying". Where I was going I didnt need roads.

i'm just lucky i guess... i haven't gotten a ticket in like 7 years.

but i'd say a good radar detector is a must like an escort 8500 (or their new gps model) or a V1. it seems like almost all of the troopers and police departments around the twin cities just use K or Ka band radar. the only time i've seen any using laser was about 30 minutes south of lakeville on i-35. but for that you just need a laser jammer. :)

rosemount cops love to use there new pop radar. too bad i ask the cops everytime i get pulled over which radar they used and they are stupid enough to tell me
I havent gotten a speeding ticket in over a year and cant or else the govt will have my ass.

pop radar is worthless because all the new detectors see it, and the cops have to switch over to regular mode to actually pull your speed.

most city cops do use K/KA, but once and a while I'll see a statie using laser.

All I know is the v1 Anita and I share has saved our butt many times :)

yeah, if you get a good detector (escort 8500, bel 65, or V1) they all do a pretty good job against pop. any other radar detector probably isn't going to see it. there are tons of crappy ones out there that just can't come close to performing like they claim to.

thats fascinating though... i think i've only ever encountered pop like once.

I had 3 tickets within 12 months last year and got a warning from the state. A few weeks ago I got pulled over for going 27 over in a 55 zone. My insurance company still doesn't know about any of the tickets.

I picked up a V1 a couple weeks ago. I ran it side-by-side with a Cobra for a couple days to test it out. It would pick up K-band signals up to 2 miles ahead of the crappy Cobra. I hardwired it into the GTI and it is well worth what I paid for it.

Also, IGH cops use laser. I've seen them running a trap on Babcock Trl. over 494 where they hide in the CHS lot and clock anyone coming over the bridge. VERY tricky.

i have no tickets, but i do have a careless driving on my record from 2004 when i decided to go Uber fast when i had the revo trial. the one time i decided to do that i went to effing Jail. talk about unlucky... but that will be off my record come september of this year.
oddly enough i still dont really pay much on my insurance, haha

if i ever turbo my car then i will definately be getting a V-1

Where is this? Im trying to picture it but cant. I usually go that way to my sisters and cut up on 52 to inver grove form 494. Whats CHS ?

if you get tickets and you want to keep them off your record, go to your court date and tell them that you'd like to keep it off your record and that you would be happy to pay the court fees if they would do this and the judge and prosecuting attorney are usually willing to do this. it costs you a little more, but it then doesn't go on your record and your insurance company will never know.

in hennepin county you don't even have to go to court, just go in whenever and see a hearing officer... usually you'll get some discount on your fine and no blemish on your record.

now if you're getting tickets every 3 months, you're probably not going to be getting cut any deals....

That's the problem when you get the first ticket that goes on your record it becomes very hard to cut a deal. I know this fact well because I've been in to see many prosecutors regarding speeding tickets. For this recent one I'm not even wasting my time. I'm just paying the ticket.

As far as where CHS is: It's the big corporate campus off of Babcock Trail just south of 494 and west of 52. They have this little Cenex station tucked away in there. Usually gas prices run about 20 cents less than at a normal station but you can only pay by credit card. One pump runs 92 octane.

Oh yeah chs I havent been on those roads in a while since I stopped working at the auto glass place which was a mile away from there. Yeah I also see inver grove cops on south robert trail past 70th sitting down so as you come over the hill going south they can nail you.
