shredded serpentine belts suck, especially at 6:00pm on Sunday evenings..

thank God for me leaving my old belt in may car lastr time I changed it!

and Kris for coming to the rescue with a set of allen wrenches and an eye to look out for cars that may have veered onto the shoulder.

and German engineers for putting the right size bolt in the right location, to be used for other purposes! To compress the belt tensioner you have to insert a bolt into it an crank it down.. fortunately the 3 bolts holding the tensioner to the head are the perfect size, so you can take one out and use it!

turns out my water pump caused the firts bel t to break, I went out and got a new belt on Monday, put it on after work, drove to St.Paul to go to the bank, and noticed it was tearing apart my new belt.

so I had to buy ANOTHER $45 belt plus a $100 water pump, and put it all in today.

You actually have to raise the engine 2 inches out of the car to be able to get the pumps in and out... not cool.

but all is well now. B)
