So Ive seen a coup[le of guys on the vortex make a cold air intake instead of spending 300 bux to buy one. So Im just wondering what I would need to do it? Should I just buy a cheap one from pep boys but then where do I plug in the maf or what other extra sensors I have and would I need a smaller breather filter? I ahve no clue about this engine. Im guessing its similar to he VR6 but I m not sure if the plugs will fit where ever they should go. Also what are the chance this will set off some engine codes??

High. MkV guys are finding out the MAF for the new Bosch ME9 is a critical component and if the diamter, etc. of the intake is not right you will mess with fueling and possibly throw codes.

People have succesfully made custom home-made intakes for the MkV GTI, but they always have to buy a nice machined MAF housing from someone like ATPTurbo.com. Not sure if anyone makes one for the 2.5 though.

Get a decent exhaust, if you\'re looking for the sound. Seems like a lot less headache, until something actually made for your car comes out.

This person did it by pretty much leaving the Maf right where it is and not changing the diameters of anything.

Yeah I saw that but there is a wire that plugs into the plastic peice from the grill that need to go somewhere. And I dont know where that little filter is coming from.
